All Summer In A Day

Wouldn't you just hate to be thrown into a closet on your only day to see the sun in seven years? Well in the book "All Summer In A Day" the people lived on and in the planet Venus because of the substantial amounts of rain hitting the surface of Venus. On the planet Venus the sun only came out once every seven years. Since the sun comes out once every seven years so most of the class doesn't remember the last time they saw the sun. The girl that does remember the sun from when she came from Earth got thrown into the closet right as the sun was about to come out because no one would believe her that the sun was going to come out on that day.

This story relates to real life events in Seattle Washington. I say this because in Seattle during winter time there can be days of just frigid rain where you might not see the sun for days. In a place like this there could easily be a child that is being punished during a short break from the rain and might miss the sun light.

I feel a little sorory for the girl that was locked in the closet because she won't be able to see the sun for another seven years all because some little brats thought that she was lying about the sun. It just seems as the kids were very mean and I think they should of been thrown in the closet instead of the girl.

I feel sorry for the girl in the story and have also seen on the news that seattle has lots of rain all throughout the year, and sometimes you don't see the sun for days. I can't imagine not seeing it for 7 years.
